This course presents strategies for writing letters of recommendation that address character and provides guidance on interpreting, assessing, and rating character factors presented in recommendations.

The basics:

  • Intended audience: Secondary and postsecondary professionals who deal with recommendation letters.
  • Format: On-demand.
    • This course includes six chapters (consisting of videos, reading, and additional resources) and a final knowledge check. 
  • Cost: $50 for members, $100 for nonmembers.
    • A 20 percent discount is available for offices of four or more participants registering for the same course.
  • Estimated completion time: 2 hours.
    • Participants have six months to access and complete the course in NACAC Learn.
  • Upon completion: 2 continuing education credit hours and a completion certificate.
