Student and Equity Centered College Admission
Statement of Policy
NACAC maintains a leading role in advocating for equitable access to higher education, particularly through upholding the following principles:
- The importance of each institution’s mission in guiding its decisions on issues of enrollment policy and practice
- The compelling nature of institutional diversity and equity interests that can and do orient institutions in setting direction, establishing commitments, and investing in programming
- The imperative of maintaining race-conscious enrollment policies and practices to advance institutional diversity and equity goals and that these goals provide tangible benefits for our country
NACAC’s Guide to Ethical Practice in College Admission reflects the association’s long-standing commitment to principled conduct among professionals who support students in the college transition process from secondary school to postsecondary education and in the transfer process between postsecondary institutions.
