As the voice of the college admission counseling profession, NACAC advocates for the best interests of students and members. The members of NACAC support students in the college transition process from secondary school to postsecondary education and in the transfer process between postsecondary institutions.
Student- and Equity-Centered Admission
NACAC maintains a leading, principled role in advocating for equitable access to higher education.
Support for School Counselors
NACAC supports policies to hire, train, and equip school counselors for college advising in order to resolve critical shortages and unmanageable student to counselor ratios.
Guiding Ethics
The members of NACAC support students in the college transition process from secondary school to postsecondary education and in the transfer process between postsecondary institutions. NACAC is committed to being a trusted source of research-based, field-informed policy and practice guidance.
College Access and Affordability
NACAC will lend support to initiatives that support greater equity in access to college preparatory curriculum, college affordability, such as state appropriations for postsecondary education and need-based financial aid, and attention to social and legal barriers that prevent students from participating in postsecondary education.
