What drew you to the world of college admission counseling?
The opportunity to impact lives and understand the critical steps to enrollment and the nuanced efforts tied to recruitment and retention appealed to me. Specifically, understanding how to engage and enroll a diverse student body is quite a challenge and joy alike.

What is your favorite part of the job?
My favorite part of the job is developing the team to understand the concept of enrollment and seeing the proverbial “light bulb” turn on as recruiters, counselors, directors, etc., all understand their critical role in shaping, enrolling, retaining, and graduating students: That is an immense pleasure.

How has NACAC played a role in your career?
Through NACAC, I have been able to establish a strong, supportive nexus; learn and participate in critical dialogues; and most importantly, build relationships across the country necessary for development and success (via mentorship). NACAC provides a space to unpack practice, partake in theory, and gather necessary insights that inform strategy and direction professionally.

What do you think are the biggest challenges facing our profession today?
Longevity, institutional resources, and strategic alliances.

When you aren’t working, what do you like to do?
Eat. Travel. Read. And play my Xbox!

What five words would you use to describe yourself?
Data-informed. Transparent. Honest. Strategic. Collaborative.
